Is a ship sanctioned by the US, the UK or the EU? Search the OFAC, UK and EU vessel lists at once by IMO number, MMSI or name — including former names. Free, no sign-up, updated daily.
1 vessel match "9753741"
- US OFAC as “YEVGENY PRIMAKOV” — UKRAINE-EO13662, RUSSIA-EO14024
Screening aid only, not legal advice. Shyppy checks the US OFAC SDN list, the UK Sanctions List (ships) and the EU vessel bans — Annex XLII to Regulation 833/2014 and the North Korea measures, from the EU Sanctions Map and the Danish Maritime Authority's published annex, each refreshed daily. UN-designated ships are covered through the UK and EU lists. A clear result is not a clearance: lists change, and ownership or cargo can bring sanctions without the ship being named. Always confirm a match on the official list.
Screening a fleet or every vessel your cargo moves on? Shyppy flags sanctioned ships on every vessel page and on your fleet board, and tracks them live. Look up any ship in the vessel database.
Questions
How do I check if a vessel is sanctioned?
Search by IMO number — it stays with the hull when a ship is renamed or reflagged, which sanctioned tankers often are. Name searches also cover former names and aliases on the lists. Confirm any match on the official list before acting.
Which sanctions lists does this check?
The US Treasury OFAC SDN list, the UK Sanctions List (ships designated under the Russia, North Korea and other regimes) and the EU's vessel bans: Annex XLII to Regulation 833/2014 — the Russian 'shadow fleet' port-access ban — and the EU North Korea measures. All are refreshed daily; UN-designated ships are included through the UK and EU lists.
What happens if a ship is sanctioned?
Under the US list, US persons must not deal with the ship and others risk secondary sanctions. Ships on the UK list or EU Annex XLII are banned from ports and maritime services — pilotage, bunkering, insurance, brokering — in the UK or EU. Charterers, cargo owners, banks, P&I clubs and agents all screen vessels before fixing or financing a voyage.
Is this check free?
Yes. Search as many vessels as you like, no sign-up.
